The Rules of Reason

The further you try to extend your reason, the more futility and pessimism will inevitably reign supreme in your eyes. This is because reason itself is a lust for permanence, a war against all that is fleeting, an ultimately hopeless lashing out at what you therefore believe to be the cruel world around you. No amount of thought will ever soothe this wanting, or change the facts of your temperament.

Only love can dissolve your sorrow.
