Life’s Gamble

Always bet on life.


Sounds far from conclusive, speculative at best. And just because it’s our best explanation doesn’t mean it’s actually all that likely. We’re pretty ignorant, in the wider scheme of things.

But still, if you’re asking me where my money lies… put me down for everywhere. Titan. Europa. Venus, Sure. My suspicion is that life must be far more common than we think. Anywhere that you see modestly complicated atmospheric exchange, any kind of planetary cycle, I expect you will also find some kind of self-reproducing evolutionary biology. Probably won’t be as spectacular as the big show we have here on earth, but hey… everyone can’t be goldilocks.
